Throughout this week, I feel like I’ve learned so much about the importance of having a good work ethic and being organized. Because I joined the team a bit later, I think I was a little disorganized at first, but I feel like my mentor helped me out and held me accountable for the tasks that needed to be done. It was a very fast-paced environment but I think it made the week feel really productive and rewarding for me. The story I worked on is so great and I am very proud of the work I did alongside my mentor.

Being able to work with a whole team that has so many moving parts pushed me to take initiative when I needed help. Everyone on the team from the editors to the illustrators was willing to offer so much of their expertise to make the story the best it could be from every aspect. It was definitely not an easy week. There were times when I was stressed and worried over the outcome, but having a good support system like my mentor, Veronica, was key to not feeling completely overwhelmed by the project.

Every day was a challenge but I do believe once the interview was actually done, everything else naturally came together and we were not as backed up on time as I might have expected. Especially on Friday, everything went smoothly and any issue was resolved immediately. I feel privileged to be able to tell Frank Wooden’s story through NextGenRadio so I just feel really happy that the week is coming to an end on a high note.
